PERSONAL

The Writer

Notes from practice, written over time

SINCE 2022

Writing has been a way for me to slow down complex transitions in my career and make them legible for other designers. Across three books, I document the shift from engineering to design, the growing role of AI in product work, and the tools designers need as they move from individual contribution to operating at scale. These books are not theory. They are built from lived practice, real constraints, and decisions made inside fast-moving teams.

BUILDING BRIDGES FROM CODE TO PIXELS

https://himpub.com/product/building-bridges-from-code-to-pixels-the-journey-from-engineering-to-ui-ux-design/

Building Bridges from Code to Pixels is a practical guide for anyone looking to enter UI and UX design with clarity and confidence. The book focuses on fundamentals, real workflows, and the thinking behind design decisions, drawing from industry experience rather than theory alone. It is written to help readers understand how products are shaped, built, and improved in real teams.

Blending structured explanations with real-world examples, the book walks through core concepts, portfolio thinking, and interview preparation in a grounded way. It is especially useful for engineers, analysts, and early designers who want to build a strong foundation and approach design as a problem-solving discipline rooted in logic, intent, and user understanding.

AI BOOKS

ON THE PATH TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE HIGHER ON THE PATH TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE Currently in the publishing phase, these books extend this journey by focusing on how designers can work with artificial intelligence in practical, grounded ways. Rather than treating AI as a trend or a prediction exercise, these books examine how tools are already reshaping everyday design work. The focus is on how decision-making, judgment, and system thinking become more important as execution becomes faster.

The second book introduces a structured set of foundational AI tools that support designers across research, ideation, content, and workflow organisation. Each tool is explained through real use cases, with clear guidance on where it adds value and where human judgment matters more. The goal is to help designers build breadth and confidence while staying rooted in design fundamentals. The third book moves into advanced tools and workflows, including no-code builders, automation systems, and agent-based setups that enable designers to operate at scale. This volume shifts the focus from individual tools to composing systems that reduce repetition, support complex work, and free time for higher-quality decisions. Together, these books position AI as a practical extension of modern design practice, shaped by intent, discipline, and clarity of thought.

I write to share hard-earned lessons from real product work, so designers can make better decisions without repeating the same mistakes.

Writing these three books wasn't about adding "author" to my title—it was about closing the loop on my own journey. When I moved from engineering to design, I kept looking for resources that spoke my language: systems, constraints, and practical application. Most design books felt either too theoretical or too tool-focused. I wanted something in between. Building Bridges from Code to Pixels became the book I wish I'd had in 2013. On the Path to Artificial Intelligence and Higher on the Path to Artificial Intelligence became the references I kept reaching for as AI stopped being a future concern and started showing up in every sprint.

After years of designing systems that help teams move faster, writing became another form of the same work: creating infrastructure that makes better decisions easier to reach.
